Corn on the stalk. Stories of Pirque.

Chosto Ulloa and Santos Rubio, poetic singers, guitarrón players, storytellers and profound philosophers, kept the guitarrón tradition alive in Pirque, Central Chile, in the late 20th century. Raised in the old style, neither learned to read or write, but their memories hold verses, songs, and the history of the valley.
Three hundred hours of film recorded over a ten-year period offer hundreds of vignettes of life in the valley and constitute an archive of inestimable cultural value. 76 min. January 2015
